WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO START YOUR BUSINESS?
I was previously working for a coach and during that time I had the privilege of working with other high-level coaches. I saw them all working hard, thriving, and living a life I wanted so badly so I took the plunge to quit my job in pursuit of my dreams.
WHAT WAS YOUR BIGGEST STRUGGLE WHEN STARTING OUT?
Self-doubt. It’s all fun and games when you’re daydreaming about starting a business but it gets real, really fast when you actually take the plunge and quit your 9-5. It’s really easy to have self-doubt creep in and second guess if you have what it takes to make it. You can be your own worst enemy at the beginning.
WHAT MINDSET SHIFTS HAVE YOU MADE TO SET YOUR BUSINESS UP FOR SUCCESS?
As a newer business owner you’re going to have less than successful moments, failed launches, disappointing turnouts for masterclasses etc. It’s so easy to be discouraged by these moments because let’s be honest, nobody likes to fail. Instead of looking at those moments as “failures” I think looking at them as learning experiences allows you to gather what you learned and improve next time with more motivation to move forward rather than retreat and feel sorry for yourself.
WHAT’S THE #1 THING YOU ATTRIBUTE TO GROWING YOUR BUSINESS?
Persistence is the way to grow your business. Persistence when you’re having doubts, persistence when your launch flops, persistence when you make no sales. Keep showing up, keep learning from your mistakes, that’s the key to success.
WHAT HAS BEEN YOUR BIGGEST BUSINESS LESSON LEARNED?
One of my biggest business lessons is that price objections aren’t a pricing problem but a messaging problem. People with price objections aren’t seeing the true value of what you’re offering which means you aren’t clearly communicating the value of what you offer to the specific group of people you created the offer for. Confusion in messaging kills conversion!
WHAT PODCASTS OR BUSINESS BOOKS ARE YOU READING RIGHT NOW?
I actually just started listening to “Build Your Tribe” with Chalene & Brock Johnson. It’s actually a mother-son duo that discuss their journeys building their online presence and businesses. I love that it’s bite-sized episodes for those of us that can’t sit and listen for an hour at a time. It’s also so neat to hear from two very different people who grew their platforms at two different times and what’s changed with building an online business then vs. now and what’s just as important!
WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE MUSIC TO LISTEN TO WHEN YOU’RE CREATING CONTENT?
Unpopular opinion here but I actually like to shuffle my entire music library because sometimes you don’t really know what’s going to put you in the content creation mood or inspire you until you hear it.
HOW DO YOU DECIDE ON WHAT IMAGES TO USE FOR YOUR BRAND?
Brand colours are important but my biggest deciding factor for brand images is actually the feeling they give me. I really want the aesthetic of my brand to go hand in hand with my messaging to create my desired brand experience. Some adjectives I’d use to describe that feeling I look for would be luxe, clean, aspirational.
HOW HAS HAUTE STOCK HELPED YOU IN YOUR BUSINESS?
Using Haute Stock I’ve been able to curate a brand experience and aesthetic that I’m really proud of without having to hire a graphic designer. I can count on beautiful and nongeneric Canva templates, stock photos, and stock videos that allow me to continue to create beautiful and branded content.
WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE HAUTE STOCK COLLECTION?
I think it’s pretty much impossible to pick just one, my top 3 have to be Content Creator, Reflection, and Editor’s Note. Monday has become my favorite day of the week since becoming a Haute Stock member, all of the collections are so beautiful.
Content Creator | Editor’s Note | Reflection
